WHAT I NOTICED
• In a developing country, social media is often the main portal to the internet.
• There is a more receptive attitude towards advertising, and higher social media engagement than in the West.
• Technological advancement is the best way to alleviate poverty.
The agency, a part of the global advertising network. wanted to help international brands establish their 📢 voice in Myanmar’s emerging digital landscape and developing economy.
I turned up the volume.
This was a truly special experience for me, as I got to live and work in the country where I was born and hadn’t returned to since leaving as a child.
During my time at TODAY Ogilvy, I got to work with prominent global and national brands and experience first hand the excitement of a population beginning to embrace social media.
Highlights include creating a series of social videos as part of Coca Cola’s "Moments Together" tour showing thousands of fans coming together to enjoy performances by Myanmar’s biggest music stars; producing a TV commercial for Coke which aired during the celebrated Festival of Lights; and directing an exclusive brand film for a Mercedes-Benz launch event.
